The One, The Only, The One Polyphonic Synthesizers by Moog

Never a company to leave well enough alone, Moog has just released the One, new polyphonic synthesizers in 8-voice and 16-voice versions. Inspired by the classic Memorymoog, which was available only between 1982 and 1985, the One poly synths merge classic tones and knob-per-function design with modern flexibility and conveniences such as assignable performance controllers, a pressure-sensitive XY pad, built-in Eventide reverbs and Moog digital effects, a center-panel LCD, and tons of presets!

Whether you choose the 8-voice model or the 16-voice beast, you’ll get to enjoy 61 full-sized, velocity-sensitive, aftertouch-enabled Fatar TP-8S keys and three-part multitimbral functionality with three triangle-core VCOs, four LFOs, two filters, three envelopes, a sequencer, and an arpeggiator per voice. The oscillators deliver traditional and custom wave shapes, as well as hard sync, analog ring modulation, and FM. The filter section includes a state-variable filter and a Moog Ladder filter, each with a selectable high-pass, low-pass, band-pass, or notch mode. Plus, they are linkable and may be arranged in series or parallel. With a dual-source noise generator, an internal modulation matrix, and voices that can be assigned, split, layered, or stacked, sound shaping is expressive and user-friendly.

The One can sync to MIDI Clock and send it, and offers MIDI I/O, USB I/O, and assignable CV inputs and outputs for integration with other analog synths and sound modules. For patch-happy sound scientists, there is a host of I/O allowing manual routing of the synths and effects. Speaking of effects, the built-in effects can be used on each synth and the master bus! A welcome bonus is the vocoder with a dedicated XLR-1/4" combo input.

In addition to powerful preset integration, the Moog One boasts User Spaces and Snapshots to expand recallability. User Spaces save everything from port/pedal setups to LED brightness, while Snapshots store a time-stamped preset of the One’s settings.

Stage-ready musicians, studio wizards, and synth collectors will appreciate the forward-thinking nod to the past presented by these powerhouse poly synths. Look up the Moog One on our website or visit the B&H SuperStore to chat with a fellow synth aficionado!
